Introduction to cancer immmunology

癌症免疫学 (Cancer Immunology) 研究利用免疫系统识别和清除癌细胞，是癌症治疗领域的热点。

传统的癌症疗法，如化疗、放疗，会对正常细胞造成伤害；而免疫疗法通过激活患者自身的免疫系统，特异性地清除癌细胞，可以减少对正常细胞的损害。此外，免疫疗法在某些癌症类型中展现了显著、稳定的治疗效果；甚至在一些对传统疗法无效的病例中，免疫疗法也取得了突破性进展。这些优势均显示出癌症免疫学广阔的研究和应用前景。

为进一步探讨癌症免疫学的最新研究和应用，促进学科交叉与前沿领域创新，Biolà将组织癌症免疫学主题的Biolog学术座谈会，诚邀4-6名分享者，每位分享者进行时长不超过10分钟的分享，内容包括但不限于相关领域前沿研究、领域背景知识介绍、自己对这个主题的看法，以及自己的研究。

另：如果分享者数量超过6名，Biolà将组织两场分享会以确保好的参与体验。

Biolog Session 05 | Cancer Immunology — Call for Participants

Biolog is a small-group discussion series designed primarily for members of the Biolà community. Each session typically brings together 4–6 participants with shared or overlapping interests for informal conversations about science, research, and academic life.

The goal is to create a relaxed space where participants can meet others with similar interests, exchange ideas, and learn from one another through open discussion.

Session 05 | Cancer Immunology

Cancer immunology explores how the immune system recognizes, responds to, and eliminates cancer cells, and how these mechanisms can be harnessed for cancer treatment.

Compared with traditional approaches such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, which can also damage healthy tissues, immunotherapy aims to mobilize the patient’s own immune system to target cancer cells more selectively. In several cancer types, immunotherapies have produced durable clinical responses and have also shown promise in cases that respond poorly to conventional treatments.

These advances have made cancer immunology one of the most active and rapidly evolving areas of biomedical research.

About the Session

To explore recent advances and emerging questions in cancer immunology, Biolà will host a Biolog discussion session on Cancer Immunology.

We are inviting 4–6 participants to give short presentations of no more than 10 minutes each.

Possible topics include, but are not limited to:

• Recent advances and emerging questions in cancer immunology
• Introductions to key concepts or research areas
• Personal perspectives on the field
• Your own research related to cancer immunology
• Interesting papers, methods, or ideas you would like to discuss

Formal presentations are not required. A few slides, a figure, a paper, or simply a topic you would like to discuss are all welcome.

If more than six participants sign up to present, we may organize two separate sessions to maintain a comfortable and interactive discussion format.

Biolà welcomes participants at different stages of training and from different research backgrounds.
